Overview
The EU2200i is the benchmark quiet suitcase inverter: a 121 cc Honda GXR120 engine driving 1,800 W rated (2,200 W max) of 120 V inverter power through a 20 A duplex receptacle. Honda publishes noise with explicit load bases — 57 dBA at rated load, 48 dBA at 1/4 load — and runtime the same way (8.1 h at 1/4 load; 3.2 h at rated load on the 0.95 gal tank). CO-MINDER continuously monitors carbon monoxide and automatically shuts the engine down; Oil Alert and an electronic circuit breaker cover low-oil and overload. Two units parallel to 4,400 W. Honda claims 'stable, clean power' but publishes no numeric THD, so that field is honestly null here. The current US SKU is not for sale in California.
Variant note: Standard EU2200i (20A duplex only). The EU2200i Companion (separate record) swaps the duplex for an L5-30R 30A locking receptacle + single 5-20R for RV/parallel use. Both supersede the EU2000i (+10% power). A camo variant exists.
Revision note: Current revision includes CO-MINDER and Bluetooth (Honda My Generator app, monitoring/wireless stop only). Pre-CO-MINDER serial ranges exist under an older manual.
Data note: Current US SKU EU2200ITAN. THD null per policy: only qualitative 'stable, clean power' claims exist, so sensitive-electronics suitability is capped at medium despite true inverter output. Rated-load runtime (3.2 h) is stored under its own 'rated' basis, never merged with the 25% figure. Honda's own mm dimensions used (509 × 290 × 425) rather than raw inch conversion. The product page shows a 'See the new model' link — a possible refresh exists; unresolved at check time. Earliest serial ranges predate CO-MINDER and are covered by a different manual; this record describes the current CO-MINDER-equipped revision.
