Overview
The Yeti 3000X is Goal Zero's previous-generation large station and the only Li-ion NMC record in this index, which makes it a useful counterpoint to the LiFePO4 field rather than a direct competitor to it. Goal Zero publishes 3,032 Wh (10.8 V, 280.8 Ah) and 2,000 W continuous pure sine output with a 3,500 W surge, delivered through just two AC outlets. Its defining limitation is cycle life: 500 cycles to 80% capacity, roughly an eighth of the 4,000-cycle LFP units, with the discharge rate and temperature basis stated. Charging is well documented: the port accepts up to 600 W, the included 230 W supply gives an explicitly stated 0-100% time of 14 hours, and an optional 600 W supply cuts that to 6 hours. An MPPT charge controller is named in the battery specification, and simultaneous recharge and discharge is confirmed.
Variant note: Base standalone Yeti 3000X, SKU 36400, shipped with the 230 W AC power supply and roll cart. Distinct from the Yeti 3000X + Boulder 200 Briefcase solar-generator bundle and from the newer Yeti PRO 4000, which supersedes this unit in Goal Zero's range. The Yeti X 600W Power Supply is an accessory, not a separate indexed entity.
Data note: All values are taken verbatim from the official goalzero.com Yeti 3000X specification block on 2026-07-31, which publishes a complete Ports, General and Battery Details set. An official Goal Zero user guide PDF was located on the manufacturer's own CDN and is recorded as officialManualUrl, so no third-party manual is relied on anywhere in this record. CHEMISTRY: Goal Zero states 'Cell chemistry: Li-ion NMC' explicitly, so batteryChemistry is nmc rather than the li_ion_unspecified used where a cathode is not named. This is the only NMC record in the index. acInputW=600 is the charging port maximum ('AC Wall Chargers (600W Input Max)'); the unit ships with a 230 W supply and the 600 W supply is an add-on purchase, so the recorded acRechargeTimeHours=14 is the stock configuration and the 6-hour figure applies only with the optional supply. Both are published under the heading 'RECHARGE CHARGE TIMES (0-100%)', so unlike most records in this index these are genuine full-recharge figures rather than partial claims. solarInputW=600 is the actual solar input ceiling ('Solar Charging (600W Actual Input Max)') and shares the same High Power port as AC charging. expandableBatterySupport=true rests on the documented 'Expansion Module Port ... To be used with Goal Zero expansion modules only'; no maximum system capacity is published, so maxExpandableCapacityWh is null rather than estimated. rvPortPresent=false: the complete port list contains no NEMA TT-30. upsEpsMode='unknown' because no UPS or EPS switchover claim appears in official material; 'Simultaneous Recharge & Discharge: Yes' establishes pass-through only and was not treated as a UPS claim. appControl and carChargingSupported are null because no official statement was found on this page.

Use cases
- Home backup for essential loads up to 2,000 W continuous
- Occasional large-capacity use where cycle count stays low
- Sensitive equipment needing documented pure-sine output
- Solar charging at up to 600 W through the MPPT High Power port
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- 3,032 Wh of usable capacity in the 3 kWh class
- Explicit pure-sine-wave statement on the AC output specification
- Recharge times published as explicit 0-100% figures, 14 h on the included supply and 6 h on the optional 600 W unit
- MPPT charge controller named in the battery specification
- Simultaneous recharge and discharge confirmed as a spec row
Weaknesses
- 500 cycles to 80% capacity, by far the shortest-lived battery in this index and roughly an eighth of the LFP field
- Li-ion NMC rather than LiFePO4, with a shelf-life instruction to recharge every 3 to 6 months
- Only two AC outlets, and 2,000 W continuous is modest for 3,032 Wh
- 2-year warranty, against 5 years on most comparable units
- The 600 W charging rate needs an add-on power supply; the included one is 230 W, hence the 14-hour stock recharge

batteryCapacityWh | 3032 | Pack capacity: 3032Wh (10.8V, 280.8Ah) | Official spec page — Battery Details block. Page title concurs with 3032Wh. | high |
continuousAcOutputW | 2000 | 2x AC: 2000W, 3500W Surge (120VAC 60Hz, 16.5A), Pure Sine Wave | Official spec page — Ports block, OUTPUT section. Surge kept separate from continuous per policy. | high |
surgeAcOutputW | 3500 | 2x AC: 2000W, 3500W Surge (120VAC 60Hz, 16.5A), Pure Sine Wave | Official spec page | high |
numberOfAcOutlets | 2 | 2x AC: 2000W, 3500W Surge (120VAC 60Hz, 16.5A), Pure Sine Wave | Official spec page — The port list names exactly two AC outputs, unusually few for this capacity class. | high |
outputWaveform | pure_sine_wave | 2x AC: 2000W, 3500W Surge (120VAC 60Hz, 16.5A), Pure Sine Wave | Official spec page — Explicit waveform statement in the AC output row, not inferred from marketing language. | high |
batteryChemistry | nmc | Cell chemistry: Li-ion NMC | Official spec page — Cathode named explicitly, so nmc is recorded rather than li_ion_unspecified. Corroborated by the 500-cycle rating and the 3-6 month shelf-life instruction, both inconsistent with LFP. | high |
acInputW | 600 | AC Wall Chargers (600W Input Max) | Official spec page — Port maximum. The unit ships with a 230 W supply; reaching 600 W requires the optional Yeti X 600W Power Supply. Corroborated by the INPUT row '1x High Power Charging port (AC or Solar): 600W Max (14-50V, up to 50A)'. | high |
acRechargeTimeHours | 14 | RECHARGE CHARGE TIMES (0-100%) ... 230W Power Supply: 14 hours | Official spec page — Explicitly headed 0-100%, so a genuine full-recharge figure. Recorded for the included 230 W supply; the same block gives '600W Power Supply (Add-on Purchase): 6 hours'. | high |
solarInputW | 600 | Solar Charging (600W Actual Input Max) | Official spec page — Described as an actual rather than rated maximum. Shares the High Power Charging port with AC input. | high |

dimensionsMm | {"l":387.4,"w":259.8,"h":345.4} | Dimensions: 15.25 x 10.23 x 13.6 in (38.74 x 25.98 x 34.54 cm) | Official spec page — cm converted to mm without rounding. | high |
cycleLifeRating | 500 | Lifecycles: 500 Cycles to 80% capacity (Discharge rate: 1C, Full charge/discharge, Temp: 25C) | Official spec page — Unusually complete: discharge rate and temperature basis are both stated alongside the 80% threshold. This is the lowest cycle rating in the index by a wide margin. | high |
mpptPresent | true | Management system: MPPT charge controller | Official spec page — Stated in the Battery Details block. | high |
passThroughCharging | supported | Simultaneous Recharge & Discharge: Yes | Official spec page — General block. Not treated as a UPS claim; no switchover time is published. | high |
expandableBatterySupport | true | Expansion Module Port: Under the lid - To be used with Goal Zero expansion modules only | Official spec page — A dedicated expansion port is documented, but no maximum system capacity is published, so maxExpandableCapacityWh is null rather than inferred. | high |
usbCMaxW | 60 | 1x USB-C PD port: 60W Max (5 - 20V, up to 3.0A), regulated | Official spec page — Highest single-port figure; a separate 18 W USB-C output is also listed. The 60 W port is bidirectional (INPUT/OUTPUT). | high |
warrantyYears | 2 | Warranty: 2 years | Official spec page — General block. Site-wide banners advertise 'UP TO 5 YEAR WARRANTY' across the range, but the product's own spec row states 2 years and is recorded. | high |
rvPortPresent | false | 2x AC: 2000W, 3500W Surge (120VAC 60Hz, 16.5A), Pure Sine Wave | Official spec page — Negative finding from the complete OUTPUT port list, which names only two standard AC outlets and no NEMA TT-30. | high |
