Overview
This is Renogy's mainstream 100 W flexible panel: 36 monocrystalline cells laid out in a 4 by 9 grid, laminated between an ETFE front and a plastic back, with two junction boxes at the top edge and mounting grommets at each corner. The panel bends up to Renogy's stated arc without breaking, which is the whole point: it goes on the curved roof of a van, camper or boat where a rigid panel cannot mount flat. Peak power is 100 W at STC with Voc 22.5 V, Vmp 18.9 V, Isc 5.75 A and Imp 5.29 A. Module efficiency is 14.9% — a real published number rather than marketing prose, and materially lower than the rigid mono panels in this class (typically 20-22% for a comparable rigid panel). That efficiency gap is the tradeoff for flexibility. Output is MC4, the panel body carries no IP rating on its own but the junction box is IP68 and the connectors are IP67, and Renogy publishes a 5-year material warranty plus a 25-year performance warranty at 80% output. No charge controller is included, as expected for a raw component: it feeds an external controller which then feeds the battery.
Variant note: Current 100W 12V Flexible Monocrystalline (SKU RNG-100DB-H-US). Distinct from Renogy's 50W, 200W and 300W flexible variants (separate product pages, different spec tables) and from the 100W rigid monocrystalline and 100W 'Black Division Lightweight' panels which are separate SKUs.
Data note: All figures taken from Renogy's published Specifications block on 2026-08-10 (SKU RNG-100DB-H-US). Cable length converted from Renogy's stated 12 AWG output cable of 2.30 ft (~0.7 m). Dimensions given in mm on the source page. Weight given in both units; metric used. The IP rating string is the manufacturer's exact statement: the panel body has NO separate IP rating, only the junction box (IP68) and solar connectors (IP67). Recorded verbatim to avoid implying a whole-panel waterproof rating that the manufacturer does not make. Performance warranty tiers (5yr/95%, 10yr/90%, 25yr/80%) exceed the schema's single warrantyYears field; the shorter material-and-workmanship warranty (5 years) is used there, with the tiered performance warranty noted in the description.
Specifications
Rated power, cell type, form factor, connector and weight come from official manufacturer sources; the exact claims and links are in the provenance table. Electrical characteristics and cell efficiency are recorded only where a numeric figure is published, and compatibility with any particular power station is recorded only where the manufacturer states it. A connector type is not a compatibility claim.

| Official compatibility statement | Renogy specifies this panel for 12 V and 24 V systems (with an appropriate charge controller). Maximum system voltage is 600 V DC (UL). No compatibility with any specific power station is asserted; it feeds an external charge controller. |

Use cases
- Van, camper, boat or trailer rooftops where a rigid panel cannot sit flat on the curved surface
- Weight-critical installs: 1.9 kg for 100 W is roughly half the weight of a comparable rigid mono panel
- Semi-permanent installs where the panel is glued or grommet-mounted, not repositioned daily
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Published NUMERIC cell efficiency (14.9%) — Renogy states it in the spec block, so this record can too
- Full published electrical characteristics (Voc, Vmp, Imp, Isc)
- 1.9 kg for 100 W, materially lighter than a rigid 100 W mono panel
- 5-year material warranty and a 25-year performance warranty at 80% output
- IP68 junction box and IP67 solar connectors
Weaknesses
- 14.9% module efficiency is materially lower than rigid mono panels (typically 20-22%): flexibility costs efficiency
- Panel body has no IP rating of its own — only the junction box and connectors do
- No charge controller included (this is a component; the schema assumes so, but state it clearly)
- Flexible ETFE surfaces are more susceptible to abrasion and delamination over time than glass-faced rigid panels
