Overview
This is Renogy's smallest flexible panel: 36 monocrystalline cells laid out in a 4 by 9 grid, laminated between an ETFE front and a plastic back, with two MC4 junction boxes at the top edge and mounting grommets at each corner. At 683 by 508 mm folded / unfolded it fits on smaller curved roofs where the 100 W Flexible would not, and at 1.3 kg it is genuinely light enough for a semi-permanent glue-down install with no frame or brackets. Peak power is 50 W at STC with Voc 24.3 V, Vmp 20.3 V, Isc 2.75 A and Imp 2.47 A. Module efficiency is 14.4%, materially below the ~20-22% of rigid mono panels — flexibility costs efficiency, and the delta here is honestly stated. Output is MC4, connectors are IP68/IP67 (junction box / connectors respectively; the panel body itself has no separate rating), maximum system voltage is 600 V DC (UL), and the max series fuse is 15 A. No charge controller is included — feed an external one.
Variant note: Current 50W 12V Flexible Monocrystalline (SKU RNG-50DB-H-US). Sibling of the 100W and 200W Flexible variants indexed and to-be-indexed separately. Distinct from the '50 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel (New Edition)' RNG-50D-SS-US, which is a rigid glass-faced panel.
Data note: All figures taken from Renogy's published Specifications block on 2026-08-10 (SKU RNG-50DB-H-US). Dimensions given in in and mm on the source page; metric used. IP rating recorded verbatim per Renogy's own statement (panel body has no separate IP rating). warrantyYears is null: the material/workmanship warranty term is not printed in the specifications block on this SKU's page, unlike the 100W Flexible page which does state '5 years'.
Specifications
Rated power, cell type, form factor, connector and weight come from official manufacturer sources; the exact claims and links are in the provenance table. Electrical characteristics and cell efficiency are recorded only where a numeric figure is published, and compatibility with any particular power station is recorded only where the manufacturer states it. A connector type is not a compatibility claim.

Use cases
- Van, camper, boat or trailer rooftops where the 100W Flexible is too big for the curved surface
- Weight-critical installs at 1.3 kg for 50 W
- Small trickle-charge duty for a 12 V house battery or portable power station
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Published NUMERIC cell efficiency (14.4%) — Renogy states it in the spec block
- Full published electrical characteristics (Voc, Vmp, Imp, Isc)
- 1.3 kg for 50 W — extremely light
- IP68 junction box and IP67 solar connectors
Weaknesses
- 14.4% module efficiency is lower than the sibling 100W Flexible (14.9%) and materially lower than rigid mono (~20-22%)
- Panel body has no separate IP rating — only the junction box and connectors do
- Warranty term is not stated in the specification block
- 50 W is small: even a modest 12 V fridge needs more than one of these panels
