A battery is a component, not a power supply. Rated capacity is measured at a stated discharge rate and temperature (shown below where the manufacturer publishes it). Real usable energy is lower and depends on the depth of discharge you run the pack to, the load, the temperature and the inverter it feeds. This index publishes rated figures only and derives no single "real usable watt-hours" number. On its own a bare
battery has no inverter, no charge controller and no AC outlet: it stores energy for a system you
build around it, and its safe charge and discharge limits (in the specifications below) are part of
that system design.

This is Battle Born's BB10012, the non-heated standard version of its 100 Ah 12 V lithium iron phosphate battery, and a US-assembled alternative to the Renogy and LiTime packs indexed here. Its battery management system holds continuous discharge to 100 A and continuous charge to 50 A, and allows a 200 A surge for 30 seconds, a materially longer surge window than the 1 to 10 second ratings common elsewhere in this family. Battle Born publishes a 100% usable depth of discharge as a specification, which is unusual: most manufacturers quote a recommended DoD of 80%. It weighs 14.06 kg, carries an IP65 rating, and uses brass flag terminals with a 3/8 in hole torqued to 9 to 11 ft-lb, rather than the M8 studs common on this family. Up to four units may be wired in series, and Battle Born states there is no limit on parallel connections. It ships no charge controller or inverter. The warranty is 10 years, the longest in this family. One figure is deliberately absent: Battle Born advertises 3,000 to 5,000 cycles and 100% depth of discharge as separate claims and never states cycles at a given depth of discharge, so this index records no cycle-life number rather than pairing two unlinked figures.
Variant note: BB10012, the Non-Heated / Standard version, and the only purchasable variant on this product URL. Distinct from the BB10012H heated version and the BB10012i Smart (Bluetooth) version, which are separate SKUs. Battle Born's own documentation notes that the Class I Division 2 listing does not apply to the heated version, which confirms the non-heated model is a genuinely different product rather than a label.

CHARGE TEMPERATURE CONFLICT, resolved and preserved: the manual's Temperature Specifications block prints 'Charge Temperature | 25°F to 135°F' and is the only row in that block with no Celsius equivalent, while the same manual states 'Battery Charge Temperature Range 32°F to 131°F (0°C to 55°C)' and 'Cell Charge Temperature 32°F to 131°F (0°C to 55°C)', and its BMS section states 'The BMS will not allow a charging current under 32°F (0°C)'. The 0 C to 55 C window is published verbatim in Celsius, corroborated three times, and matches the enforced BMS behaviour, so it is the recorded value; the 25°F row is noted here rather than silently dropped.
