Overview
This is Renogy's Core 12V 50Ah lithium iron phosphate battery: a small, light 12 V deep-cycle block rated 50 Ah and 640 Wh of energy at a 12.8 V nominal. Its battery management system holds continuous charge and discharge to 50 A each. Renogy lists a 100 A peak discharge for it but publishes no duration for that surge, and a peak current without a stated time basis is exactly what this index refuses to record as a bare number, so the peak is noted here but left out of the structured data. Renogy rates it for 3,500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (0.5C, 25 C, to 80% of original capacity). It charges between 0 C and 55 C and discharges between -20 C and 60 C. It weighs just 5.35 kg, measures 198 by 165 by 169 mm, carries an IP65 rating and M8 terminals, and can be wired up to four in series and eight in parallel. It ships no charge controller, inverter or cabling. Renogy backs it with a 5-year prorated material and workmanship warranty.
Variant note: Core 12V 50Ah (SKU RBT1250LFP-US). Distinct from the larger Core 100Ah/200Ah, the Core Mini line, and the trolling-motor and self-heating 12V variants.
Data note: All figures taken from Renogy's published Specifications block on 2026-08-14 (SKU RBT1250LFP-US). Nominal recorded as 12.8 V (spec labels it '12V'); the stated Energy of 640 Wh equals 50 Ah x 12.8 V. peakDischargeA is deliberately null: Renogy lists 'Peak discharge current: 100A' with no duration, and the schema's anti-hype gate forbids recording a peak/surge current without the seconds it is rated for, so it is described in prose but not stored as a number. capacityRatingBasis is null because the 50Ah figure is stated without a C-rate in the capacity row (the cycle life is quoted at 0.5C). No hero image is stored: every image in Renogy's gallery for this model is a marketing infographic with burned-in text (cell-technology comparisons, lifestyle scenes, feature call-outs), so none met the image-sourcing rules and the field is left empty rather than filled with a wrong shot. Dimensions 198 x 165 x 169 mm and weight 11.77 lb / 5.35 kg are from the Mechanical Specifications block.
Specifications
Chemistry, nominal voltage, rated capacity and weight come from official manufacturer sources; the exact claims and links are in the provenance table. Peak (surge) discharge is always shown with the seconds it is rated for and is never presented as the continuous rating, and any cycle-life figure is shown with the depth of discharge it is quoted at. Figures the manufacturer does not publish are left blank rather than estimated.

Use cases
- Trolling motors and small marine electronics where a light, compact 12 V battery is easier to carry and stow
- Small 12 V loads: lighting, a fridge, a CPAP, or a base-camp setup that does not need 100 Ah
- Building a small 12 V or 24 V bank by wiring up to four in series and eight in parallel
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Only 5.35 kg in a compact 198 mm case, the lightest and smallest LiFePO4 in this index so far
- Rated energy published directly as 640 Wh, consistent with 50 Ah at 12.8 V
- 3,500 cycles quoted with its 80% depth-of-discharge basis
- IP65 rating, M8 terminals and a 5-year prorated material and workmanship warranty
Weaknesses
- 50 Ah is a small capacity: about 640 Wh of stored energy, for light loads rather than a house bank
- 50 A continuous discharge limits it to small inverters and DC loads
- Renogy lists a 100 A peak discharge but publishes no duration for it, so this record cannot record the surge as a number (a peak without a stated time is exactly what the schema refuses)
- No charge controller, inverter or cabling included: it is a storage component, not a power supply
