Home Backup Power
Home backup means fridges, sump pumps, furnace fans, routers, and hours-to-days of runtime during an outage. Battery stations give fume-free indoor-safe backup for essential circuits; fuel generators carry larger sustained loads and longer runtime where outdoor placement and fuel handling are realistic. RV solar kits are not a standalone home-backup solution.

How this recommendation is built
This is a recommendation layer over the separate category schemas — it compares solutions, it does not merge them into one spec table. Global disqualifiers run first, then each category is filtered and ranked within itself, then results are presented in category groups with an explicit tradeoff summary. Categories are compared only on shared, user-facing axes (indoor-safety, fumes, noise, output, runtime model, setup) — watt-hours are never equated with gallons, and no runtime hours are invented.

RV solar kits — Not recommended here

Battery stations are the clean, quiet, indoor-safe choice for essential-circuit backup, especially for shorter outages and apartments/smaller homes. Fuel generators win on sustained runtime and larger loads for longer outages — but only with safe outdoor placement, fuel logistics, and a proper transfer switch. Many households pair the two.
